Max Allen Jnr, owner and skipper of Freedom Fast Cats, recently represented the Capricorn Coast at the prestigious Master Reef Guide Biodiversity Masterclass held in Airlie Beach.
Max is currently the only accredited Master Reef Guide (MRG) in the Capricorn Coast region and continues to lead the way in reef education, conservation, and visitor engagement across the Southern Great Barrier Reef.

The QDEP helps connect events with the unique destinations they call home, ensuring the benefits of these events are felt far and wide across the State. Round 1: Open now and closes 3 July 2025 – for events held January 2026 to January 2027.
Gambling Community Benefit Fund super round applications now open
Not-for-profit organisations can now apply for the latest round of the Gambling Community Benefit Fund. Round 124 is a Super Round – offering grants of up to $100,000 and injecting approximately $30 million into Queensland communities. Applications will focus on supporting natural disaster recovery and close 18 July 2025.
